I have a friend who is using Doodlekit as her blog platform. She wants to switch to WP but the blog platform WILL NOT give her a back up of her blog that she pays $30/month for. She was told that we can use the RSS feed for the posts and comments. I don’t know how to find it or upload it to WP.

Can anyone help me? I have to get her off that horrible platform.

It’s not a valid feed, and that’s probably why you can’t import it.

That’s the feed link that DoodleKit gave and that I found in the Page Info>>>RSS. Do you happen to know how I find the actual valid feed link?

That’s the one and only feed, but the code doesn’t validate. I’m not familiar with DoodleKit, but I don’t think that there’s much you can do, as the broken code appears to be related to how the feed is generated rather than the content.

Well this kind of sucks. Thank you for alerting me to this. Maybe I can get this DoodleKit thing to fix the feed or provide a non broken one. You would think that for $30/month the feed wouldn’t be broken and it would have cool option for your blog…it doesn’t.

Yeah, $30/month is a little bit crazy, especially when you can get decent hosting for $25/year and WordPress is free.

I know! THIS is why I am trying to get her moved over to WP. She is being ROBBED with that price each month.

Does anyone know if I could make the CSV file from feedburner work for this kind of import? Maybe convert it somehow to XML?
