how do I insert this into wordpress..

  • Hello everyone
    I have a friend of mines that would like to insert something like this into his wordpress.

    Is this possible? I was able to make something like it with https://www.wysiwygwebbuilder.com which is my preferred web design software. But I need to do it in wordpress.

    Is there an easier way to do this, or could someone show me how? I’m a bit lost, and slightly frustrated because it’s something I’m not used to =).

    Any help would be greatly appreciated. I hope I posted on the right thread.

  • Assuming you mean the design/theme, yes – it’s perfectly possible. I’d suggest starting with a simple 2-column theme and editing it as appropriate rather than building your own theme from scratch.

    Very true, that makes more sense. Lets say I do go with the two column design, would I be able to post a video on the right side just like the link I provided?

    One more thing =) Sorry for the questions, but I’m very new to this. I have a video that I want to upload, it is in FLV format, could I upload the video to wordpress and have it play… Kind of like a flash video player. Or does the video have to be in a specific format to play?

    you can embed whatever video-formats you like, just download and install a wordpress-plugin like this one: https://www.ads-software.com/extend/plugins/vipers-video-quicktags/, set it up and follow the instructions.
    flv is probably best suited for what you’re trying to accomplish.

    I’m getting there. I was able to get my video to show up and play and I already got my text looking better. My next thing would be to add the part where the user can add there (Email, Name). It would have to be a type of form.

    so you want to collect people’s information to send them newsletters and whatnot? search the plugins-db for “newsletter” and pick one to your liking. https://www.ads-software.com/extend/plugins/search.php?q=newsletter&sort=

    My blog is starting to shape up day by day thanks to all of your help. Now I have another small issue. I’ve added my video on the left side of my page, now I want to add a few sentences to the right of the video….So I align the text to the right but my video gets aligned to the right also. Is there a way to easily move objects in my page? Kind of like a wysiwyg website builder type software???
