• I would like to install a custom blog header… not a photo, but enter html code for the header. On my friend’s blog she has an editor (on her appearance screen)where she can input her html. I can not find that on my blog. All I can find is the header tab for uploading an image.

    Help please!

  • You can edit the header.php file, by clicking on “Editor” under “Theme” in the side menu.

That what I was explaining… this is no editor button.

There is only: Widgets | Menus | Extras | Background | Header | Typekit Fonts | Edit CSS

And Header only allows a photo.

I’m sorry it’s normally under “Appearance” “Editor”

Edit CSS sounds like the page you want.

You’re not trying to edit a WordPress.com theme are you?

Yes, I know. That is what I am looking for.

My friend and I have the exact same theme, “word press default”.
Yet, on her blog she does have a Appearance, Editor blog to be able to customize the header. On mine (using the eact same theme) do not have this option. It shows edit CSS.

I have no idea what CSS is, it doesn’t look like it is for anything specific like for a header. So where do I find an area to edit just the header??

If you have a wordpress.com blog, then you will only be able to edit the css, if you have the “Edit CSS” plugin/widget, and you won’t be able to edit any .php files.
