How do I keep a new site offline until complete

    hi,

    I thought my new site would not be indexed, but I just found it online.

    it is at domain.com/grief

    Is there a way to keep it private until completely redone?

  • Under Settings > Privacy you can change settings to ask search engines not to index your site. You can also install a plugin like WP Maintenance Mode which will display a splash page instead of your site for users that aren’t logged in.

    My very messy sub-site is now offline…

    There was NO privacy link in the sub-site, only in the main site, so the plugin was perfect!!
