How do I link to a gallery when displaying only one image in a page?

  • I have a gallery of 7 full size images attached to a page and only wish to use one of the images as a thumbnail within the content but link to the others in the gallery from this using pre and post.

    A bit like using the [gallery] shortcode within the post but only displaying one image in the page while still displaying all 7 in the gallery.

    Is this possible? I have searched for a solution so I’m sorry if this has been answered elsewhere.

    Looks like I can only use one featured image at a time. And it appears at the top left of the screen. Am I using it corectly?

    What i want is to add a thumbnail anywhere and have it link to a full gallery even though I have only added one thumbnail image to the page.

    Correct A Post or Page only ever has 1 featured image.

    And it appears at the top left of the screen

    The positioning on your pages varies from theme to theme.

    What I need is to add a thumbnail anywhere and have it link to a full gallery (the images linked to the page) even though I have only added one thumbnail image to the page.

    Is there a plugin that does this?
