• [sigh] ok here we go ….

i am using wordpress to be implemented in a custom designed website. the website [which is powered by wordpress] is to be used as a CMS/ BLOG site. the index.php page is different from the normal page.php/ archive.php pages… the index page will act like a portal… showing links to the categories, related links, latest news/post etc…

when people click on any of these links i want the page to change from the index.php page to the other page [page.php?

firstly how do i do this?

what calls/ functions do i set for this?

    secondly

In my index.php page [portal/ homepage] i want to people to see 3 of the latest post… with the read more option. i however want the post to show horizontally so within the section i have allocated i want it to show from left to right not down.

    however….

when people click on the blog page where all the rest of the blogs show i would like them to scroll down vertically as ALL normal blogs do.

i am hoping i make sense… i am adding pictures here so you can see what it is i am trying to do and hope that you can help me?

this is the link to the latest post horizontally

this is the picture of the portal page [index.php]

and the picture of the normal blog/pages of wordpress

i hope that i have explained myself here…. please help me as i need this up urgently

    thank you
