• Hi there (again),

I have another important question, so any help would be greatly appreciated.
I’m using the Sydney Pro theme with the most recent version of WordPress.

I have a menu at the top-right of my front page with several sub-items below the main menu items. For example, under the main “Education” menu item, I have three sub-items. When I click on these sub-items on the drop down list, I want them all to lead to a single page (the Education page). Ideally, the page would automatically scroll down to an anchored position for each sub-item. I don’t want each sub-item to lead to its individual page.

Hopefully this makes sense. If someone could help me out, I would be very grateful!
    Thanks,
    Justin

  • Dear Justin,

    Thank you for asking.

Remove your existing sub menu items, then replace it with custom links (https://cloudup.com/cjJmseY_ATl). In the URL field, enter the section target’s ID name, preceded with a #.

To find the section’s ID name, you use the browser’s inspector. Please see this GIF https://cloudup.com/cIEIH89MsUT

    Dear Kharis,

Thank you for the outstanding support, and apologies for the late reply.

I followed your straight-forward instructions, and it worked to some extent.
When I’m on the above-mentioned “Education” page, and I click the menu sub-item, it automatically scrolls down to the section I want. That’s good.

But! I want to access the same location from the front page menu as well. Up to now, I have been unsuccessful in finding out how to do that. In other words, when I’m on another page, and I try to access the location I want, nothing happens.
    Hopefully this makes sense.

If you can provide me with the answer, I would be very grateful!
    Thank you,
    Justin

    Dear Kharis,

I may have found an solution to my problem, based on your help.
Before the section target’s ID name (#[location]) I put the page’s URL.
Seems pretty obvious in retrospect, sorry for the hasty post!

    Thank you!
    Justin
