• I’m working on a project where I want to be able to have each person who wants one to get a profile page on my site that will be the same for everyone with the exception of a few variables such as profile picture, contact information and add them to the lead capture form on their profile for notification.
It needs to be completely automated and as simple as possible (at least until we gain some momentum and can hire a programmer).
Can this be done easily with Multisite?
If so, where would I find detailed instructions on setting this up?
If not, can you make a recommendation as to how this would be set up?
    Thanks!!!

Why Multisite? If they just need a profile page, there are profile plugins out there.

Honestly I didn’t realize there were plugins for this purpose. I thought I saw someone else do something like this and it looked like a multisite application.

Can you recommend a good plugin?

After doing some research all night last night I’m starting to realize that “profile” page is probably not the right term to use. What I really want is to have a landing(squeeze) page template that when someone registers, it is automatically generated for them and populated with information from their profile including photo, contact information and a brief bio.
Is that something that can be done with BuddyPress?
    Is that done with Multisite?

Any other suggestions? Ultimately we’ll hire someone to build/maintain this but for the moment we need to do it on our own as non programmers.

    Thanks again.

It -can- be done with Multisite, but I think it’d be overkill, since Multisite is going to make a whole site, y’know?

There are lots of profile plugins, it’s just a matter of setting down what you want – https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/tags/profile

I’ve searched the profile tags and while it appears there’s a lot of plugins out there but nothing I could find that would actually do what I need. I thought of a good example of what I’m trying to do. When I signed up for EmpowerNetwork (a long time ago, briefly) I just entered my profile information and photo and voila, I had a page that while it looked like the EN home page, it was still branded to me. That sure looked similar to a Multisite application and basically is exactly what I’m looking to do and even include a referral / affiliate type tracking (even though nothing is being sold via ecommerce).

I understand the basics of setting up a Multisite but I’m not sure how to facilitate the rest. Any pointers would be great.
