How do I make my blog the homepage on my server?

  • Hi, I installed my WordPress under mydomainname.com/cms because I had a website I left running while I leanrt to use wordpress. How can I conveniently change it so the /cms folder is out of the way and wordpress becomes my homepage?

    I am unable to reload the files again without the /cms folder because my university internet blocks FTP ??

    Sorry if this is confusing and thanks in advance for any help.
