How do I make my events page look like this screen shot?

Sorry, I need to edit this. As you can tell I’ve never used the link button before.

for the css, you need to inspect the html elements to get the css styling and since it’s using default twenty twelve theme.

That effectively didn’t change anything. Even with the twenty twelve theme which actually made things worse.

Which settings do i click (without messing with code) under general, pages and formatting do I need to make my page look like the demo site?

A plugin should allow me to at least get something close to what the demo looks like. I shouldn’t need to mess with the code to do that.

They are clearly very different as the first page has massive problems associated with it.

-My events manager is pulling information from the blogs section instead of the events section
-my icons are too big and in the wrong location
-I cant get the proper search to appear
-I cant get more than one event to appear
-I can’t get past events to appear at all
-I can’t get the events sidebar to show up
-I can’t get the upcoming events to show up
-the orientation of everything is incorrect

Note, I do not care at all about it being pretty, I just want it functional and I would like everything to appear, be the correct size, and be in the proper location.

Please explain in as great of detail as though you are trying to teach a 5 year old how to use the events manager.

And when selecting the events page under the pages tab, I end up with this:

I dont know how the calendar got there and I have no idea how to make this appear in the top right where it should be instead of dominating (and not moving) my entire page.

And do I need to separate events pages or can i just use mywebsite/events?

that raises a flag… do you have caching plugins enabled? If so (or if you had them before), that’s why you don’t see any changes, you’re seeing cached versions of older pages. Try purging your cache.

I am having the same problem as Alec. I am using the following shortcode:
[events_list scope=”future” limit=5 pagination=1 categories=upcoming-events, coming-soon]

ON this page: https://ebwn.org/event-list/

But the event photo does not appear. Should the event photo be a featured image?

I tried using this shortcode for post_id as they have featured images, but the result was the same. That is no image:
[events_list scope=”future” limit=5 pagination=1 post_id=4,17]

Suggestions?

should be

[events_list scope=”future” limit=5 pagination=1 categories=”x,y”] where x,y is the event categories id

and

[events_list scope=”future” limit=5 pagination=1 post_id=4,17]

should be

[events_list scope=”future” limit=5 pagination=1 post_id=”4,17″]

i don’t think post_id will work with multiple ids, only one is accepted atm

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, the image still does not show. If you are using this shortcode, does the image appear. If so, is it pulling the featured image? BTW, it works without the quotes as well.

@tumikia The events page you linked to earlier is showing “No Events” – do you have any events scheduled? When you do, are you seeing the images?

to get images in there, see this link for instructions, you need to add these 3 snippets into parts your Events > Settings page – https://pastebin.com/hSqCFRqj

or, do something like:
