How do I make the main site not a blog?

I’m using mu wp’s subdomain option.

I’d like to make my main site not a blog, but a regular site, just like what wordpress.com does.

On their homepage they talk about their different products, and have options to signup for an account. Yet, they still have the blogs on the different subdomains.
