How do I make URL point to root when WP is installed in sub-directry?

Hello,

I am working to update existing site (not WP) to WordPress. I have installed WP in sub-directory, so I can build the new site without interfering the existing site. But I am not clear how to move? or point to sub-directory without sub-directory showing up on URL.

I want: https://mysite.com/
Not: https://mysite.com/wordpress/
