How do I only show summaries of posts?

  • At present, I’ve set it to show only 5 posts on my blog homepage. But they’re in full – and each is very long. How can I show the first post in full – and then the next 5 or so posts as summaries?

    Thanks. Read all that – buyt still not sure how to show the first post in full, and then the next 4 as excerps? At present I’ve managed to make all 5 as excerps – but would love the first to be the full ‘content’.

    Have a look here this might could be adapted for what you need.

    Hmmm – read all of that – but to be honest – it’s going way over my head. And nothing there specifically for showing first post in full, then 4 posts as excerps. Perhaps some kind soul might write the code for me?
