How do I put an advertisement on Header (next to my logo)?

    And I have no experience with running ads on a website. Now the question is how do I put an advertisement on my Headed next to logo (on the right-hand side)?

    I am working on a child theme and thus I don’t have any access to header.php
    All my theme offers is a tab where i can enter my custom css. So what is the code I need to enter in that custom css box?

    and Secondly,
    I have entered a text widget in my Sidebar with Adsense code as a description. But the code I am running is for -“Automatic size” advertisement. So is it all good? or Should I select a custom 300×280 format?
