How do I put some posts on a category page and others on a blog

    I’m trying to set up my site so that I have a number of categories in my main menu, and posts are nominated to go in those categories.

    Where a post does not fit into a particular category I would like it to go on a “blog” page. (Posts will not go on a homepage.)

    I thought to do this by selecting my homepage under “reading” and selecting a “blog” page for my posts which did not fit under any particular category. However when I look I find that every single post is going on my blog page, and therefore they are duplicated, appearing both on my category page and my blog page.

    What is the best way to set up the site so that I can accommodate categories for particular posts, or blog for posts which do not fit in any particular category?

    Anyone? I’ve had a think and I can set up a category of blog, then I can put posts in categories, including the blog category.

    But is this a good way to do it and is there a better way?
