• Hi,

With hotgator cpanel hotlink protection I get all hotlinked images redirected to a forbidden page or can change it to a single page. How can I get the hotlink to redirect to their respective post pages on my actual site?

  • I get my HotLink Protection from Bulletproof Security https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/search.php?q=BulletProof+Security after hearing about various troubles with cPanel’s HotLink Protection. However, I just took a look at cPanel and saw this following a checkbox at HotLink Protection:

Allow direct requests (i.e., entering the URL of an image into a browser)

    Redirect request to this URL:

Note: The “Allow direct requests” checkbox must be checked when using HotLink Protection for files that you wish to be viewed in QuickTime (Mac Users) by your site’s visitors.

Afraid that’s not really a WordPress question, but one for the folks at Hostgator if you drop them a support ticket I’m sure they will be able to help though!

@ leejo – that’s for direct requests – if someone enters the URL directly they will be able to view the image. Doesn’t really pertain to what I want.

@ Tim – I will try asking them too. Didn’t hurt to ask here to see if anyone knew
