    Hello everyone! …
    – i have made major changes to a theme & am SUPER happy with the way it looks and now would like to rename it.
    – Mostly because theres a new version of WP available and i want to upgrade but i dont want the update / upgrade to possibly damage the site or revert my theme back.
    IM PARANOID LIKE THAT! LOL
? How do I rename My Current Theme?
? should i disable any cache plug-in(s) before doing so?
? Do i need to worry about this at all if the theme is not included in the original WP installation?

    Thanks All!

-you may rename your current theme’s folder in wp-content/themes

-It’s highly recommended to create a child theme, otherwise you will lose all your changes when you next update the WordPress or the theme.

    – are you saying that it has to be done via FTP?
    – instructions in that link state …
“Create a directory, put a properly formatted style.css file in it, and you have a child theme”
in english – does that mean to …..
1.create a folder in “wp-content/themes” (what do i name it?)
    2. do i copy the style.css file of the current theme (the one that im worried about) and paste
that one into this new folder?
    am i following you correctly?
thank you for chiming in & please bare with me – im a slow learner but i do make progress. LOL
