Goal: I want to get an address line to a specific post in my blog so that I can add it as a link within a new post

Using IE6 I would navigate to the specific historical post, the address bar would show the post-specific URL that I would then copy and paste into the entry I was writing

With IE7 the address bar only ever shows the blog home https://wendyhome.com without any of the sub-referecnes, e.g. https://wendyhome.com/category/name-of-category

because I like to cross reference posts this is extremely annoying. I pressume this is an artifact of the way IE7 has implemented tabbed browsing – but I don’t know how to give them this information

    Can you help?

  • What I did, for reporting “bugs” and such for the IE7 beta(s).. is went here: https://connect.microsoft.com/IE

If not signed up, go ahead and register.. then for the Feedback section there..
    https://connect.microsoft.com/IE/Feedback

Find/search for the “bug” closest to what you’re experiencing.. and confirm it, or ..if it’s new, start a new thread.. ?? This helped me out, when trying to figure out how to remove the “Clear Type” font, or disable it I mean lol..

I hope this helps maybe.. =p

It’s ‘solved itself’ now. I suspect merely some delay in the wordpress index after I updated to 2.04. No problem with IE7.0 phew

@wendy: I’ve just looked at your site with IE7 Beta 3, and I see the full path in the address bar.

As a work-around if it still doesn’t work for you, right-click on the title of the post in question and select “Copy Shortcut” – you can then paste the link where you want it.

Glad to hear you got it working now. =) ??
