How do I: Retrieve latest 5 blog posts for homepage?

Hi,

First you need to edit index.php file of your blog theme and add this parameters:

query_posts('posts_per_page=5&offset=5');

This query is telling the loop to only display 5 posts which follow the most recent post (5).

Now, loop looks like:

query_posts('posts_per_page=6&offset=1');
if ( have_posts() ) : while ( have_posts() ) : the_post();
?>
