How do I search on variation SKU?

Hello,

It looks like searching for variation SKU’s does not work on the front end woocommerce store.

It does appear to be working if I search within products on the woocommerce backend.

The following post asked the same question, and it was reportedly going to be implemented in woocommerce 2.5.

Could someone please let me know if its possible, and if yes, how to implement it.
