How do I send a link to a post to my Facebook status update?

I’m sure this is answered elsewhere, but I can’t find it and it’s wasting a lot of my time … so I aplogize for being a repetitious nuisance!

All I want to do is have my Facebook status say something liek “Here’s My latets blog” and have a link to it. I’m sure I should be able to have a simple “Send to facebook” show at the bottom of posts, so I can choose to click the button and send. the trouble is, despite trying a variety of themes, plug-in’s and widgets, I haven’t been able to make this simple thing happen.

Can someone tell me a combination of theme and plug-in/widget that will work, and perhaps warn me of obvious “gotcha’s”? I would be very grateful!
