Hey there. Figured out how to set a new thread. Just didn’t scroll down enough!

So, here’s the deal. I got the backup to work without sending to any remote servers. I initially set up a Dropbox app, put in all the info and authenticated it. It added a folder to my Dropbox and looked like it was working fine. Somewhere down the line of testing, the log said Dropbox started giving crazy errors. I don’t have the logs…Anyway, trying to do this again, but even when I “reset” everything….i.e. delete Updraftplus from plugins, delete Dropbox app and associated folders on Dropbox, delete the updraft folder in wp-content….then reinstall, all the info looks the same.

Is there a way to reset everything and/or re-authenticate a NEW dropbox app so that I can at least start over and trouble shoot from there?

    Thank you so much!

    Hi,

Use phpMyAdmin (or the WordPress ‘Adminer’ plugin) to look at your database. Find the WordPress options table. to find and delete the entries:

    updraft_dropboxtk_access_token
    and
    updraft_dropboxtk_request_token

I should code in a button to do that for you, but that’s it for now…

okay. did that. now just to verify prior to doing it.

Now that the dropbox is authenticated, I should click ‘Backup Now’ and see what happens?

This is what my most recent log says now:

[Excessive log moderated. Lease use a pastebin]

Sorry…trying to paste the log so you can see the error it’s giving me.

    Log file as of now

I also got this text in my settings tab:

DropBox error: failed to upload file backup_2013-01-14-1939_Brooke_Mullen_2470d60473f1-plugins.zip (see full log for more)
DropBox error: failed to upload file backup_2013-01-14-1939_Brooke_Mullen_2470d60473f1-uploads.zip (see full log for more)

However, as I wait longer and longer, it seems that the files are appearing in the Dropbox folder….And it seems the log is continuing to update. Does this mean that eventually the above DropBox error message will go away?

That settings page just shows the results of the most recent attempt; however, UpdraftPlus now supports resuming failed attempts. So just keep waiting – it tries every 5 minutes. The log file looks like DropBox were having problems at their end. So just be patient and it should work out…

Okay, thanks! I will let you know if I encounter further issues.

So here’s another thing that’s happening. I’m getting emails every five minutes that say the backup is complete even though all of the files are not uploaded to DropBox. Is this normal and/or is there a way for it ONLY to send me an email when everything is backup-ed both locally and via DropBox?

Plugin Author David Anderson / Team Updraft

    (@davidanderson)

That’s on my to-do list… the original Updraft plugin did not support resuming failed attempts. I’ve improved it, but not yet worked on the email notification code to try to reduce the ‘noise’ each time a backup run runs… if you could post some samples of repeated logs that would help me in remembering exactly what I need to do…

    (@masterfish11)

It looks like it stopped working….the last log update was at 3:11 and in the log, it only goes up until 3:00……It’s now ten minutes later and nothing….log in link below:

    Latest log timestamp 3:11

Log just updated but there has been no change on DropBox for whatever the same reason is. Is there a possible permissions issue? The zip it’s trying to upload is only like 13MB….

Latest log timestamp 3:40 (I only took the end of the last one since it’s getting ridiculously long)

    (@masterfish11)

Just FYI it’s been about an hour and my last .zip has NOT uploaded to DropBox. Shouldn’t take this long, right?

    (@davidanderson)

I can see the error. DropBox and UpdraftPlus disagree on how much of the file has been uploaded. DropBox appears to require absolute agreement – it refuses to resume at an earlier point in the file. I’m working on it and will get back when I have something, hopefully in the next hour…

Please upgrade to 1.2.25 (latest) and try again with a fresh backup… if it fails, please post the log.

Where can I download that from? The plugin page still says 1.2.22
