• Hi there!

First of all, thank you for taking the time to read this and help me out, I really appreciate all the support you guys give.

Currently, we are using our theme’s “automatic menu spacer” to centre and add space between our primary navigation bar. Unfortunately, it does’t always work properly (it doesn’t space all the way to the end towards the red search box), and you have to refresh the home page 2-3 times or click on a post for it to fully load.

I’d like to disengage the auto spacer and use some custom css to space the menu. Does anyone know the code I need to do this?

    Thank you!!!!

  • Hi Vanityleaguemag!

What is the name of the theme you are using and could you share your website link? The CSS needed to adjust this really depends on how the menu is setup within the theme.

Here are a couple of CSS references that I think would be of help to you but we need to figure out what to apply these to on your site.

    Padding property
    Text-align property.

oh sorry I forgot to include the website link!

And then theme we use is Newscore

    Thanks!

Oh, I see what you’re experiencing!

Since that’s a premium theme that comes with support, I think you will have the best results by contacting the theme developers for help. They may even have their own forum for support specific to that theme.

Funny enough we’ve tried contacting the author for “support” in the past, to which we never receive any reply…

But thanks anyway we’ll keep trying

Sorry – didn’t see this until just now.

The theme appears to use Bootstrap which I’m not familiar with. I do know that Bootstrap renders code “behind the scenes” so I can’t see what code is actually controlling those CSS properties I mentioned. I’m guessing that this is why you’re having the issue you’re describing (you’re setting CSS code one way with the plugin and then the Bootstrap rendering overrides it). If that’s right, then any solution I could give would probably have the same problem that the plugin is giving you.

Hope you got better results from the author this time!
