• Hi, I like websites, they can be clean and uncluttered, but now I finally can’t avoid working with WP and I’m knee deep in my pet peeves.
    Is there any way to get rid of;
    -in the article headline bar, on the front page of the site, right under the headline words are also, the date, who the author is, and what to do ie admin, how do I get rid these darn things?
    – at the bottom of the front page, under the article, is more stuff, post, categories, tags-with a long list of my tag words, and comments – how do I get rid of all of these?
    -Down my left side of the front page is; catagories, archives and links, how do get rid of these too, I don’t care if any of these are on another page, I just don’t want the front page looking so ham fisted and sloppy.

    These are things I’ve always hated about these type of sites, please tell me how to get rid of them…Help much appreciated. Roger
    ps my site is; https://www.cheapsolarpower-info.com/

  • Holy moley! That blue text hurts my eyes. You need to change that to something far less blaring to the eye. You can do that by adjusting your css for those header tags (h1,h2,h3….and so on)

    – Your author meta: You really want to have a static page (like your About page) for your front. Here is a video tutorial I did on this:
    https://wpaddict.net/video-tutorial-how-to-make-your-front-page-a-static-page/

    (if you do not want a blog, Go to Plugins an search for Simply Exclude Pages and download that, activate it and use it to not include the blog page)

    – Again, your tag and category meta, you can have this removed by following the above tutorial.

    – To remove the sidebar widgets (widgets are what they are called), go to your WordPress admin panel and in the sidebar is Appearance. Go to Widgets and put what you want in the sidebar. You can even insert your own sidebar widget with html code or images, or whatever you like. However, In removing them it will not spread your content across the whole of the page. You would have to create a new page template with a css and not include the php inclusion for the sidebar
