When I check the option Hide Logo Image in the Theme Customizer->Header & Navigation->Primary Menu Bar screen, these comments go away and the upper left of the Primary Menu Bar is blank, but when I _want_ to display a logo image, I get these two comments wrapping the logo image:

/* Comment out this line if substituting the Site’s name for a logo. */
    (Logo image)
/* Use this code to display the Site’s name – CSS specs for the text are included in this line of code! */

I am using a Divi Child theme that I created to avoid losing modifications … it’s very bare-bones and doesn’t have anything like that in my files.

If you know where that comes from – could you please identify, if you don’t know and can share how I would track those comments down in the hundreds of files within this WordPress installation, could you please assist in that way?

Please note: Those COMMENTS are actually displaying on the front end of the site. I wouldn’t care if they were just comments that the public didn’t see.

Thank you for whatever guidance you can provide!

    suggestion:
if you are sure that the comment is not part of your child theme header file,
contact Divi theme support team for guidance.
maybe there is a small error in the code causing the comments to display.

    Thank you Lisa –

I certainly will double (triple, quadruple) check my child theme’s header.php as that was the first place I looked – without success. I posted Chat inquiry about this some time ago, but with them putting out much bigger fires related to the new Divi back end / visual builder / and integration with the new Glutenburger WP editor, I don’t expect that they will be able to get back to me too soon.

I appreciate the suggestions and will follow through!

Sure enough, you found it Lisa – thanks so much!

That code indeed was in my child theme header.php file. Apparently I sought out a solution for substituting text rather than a logo in Divi (logo image is the default and it’s not easily changed) … I did the old “copy the suggested code and paste” and somehow things got ugly.

Thanks again for encouraging me to pour through the code one more time.

    Regards,

    Jeff
