• I have just rebuilt my website on a local host using Wamp. I left my old website online with my host server. I am now ready to upload my new site to the old one but first I need to merge with the database from the old site to the new. All of the posts on the old site are referenced on a Google+ Community page and so I need to keep the old settings intact.

I have made a number of new posts on the local host site which I can upload to the community post later.

On a slightly different point, when I upload the new site, do I discard the old contents of public.html and replace it with the folder from Wamp?

The offline site is in WP 4.4 and the old site is in WP 4.3 if that makes a difference?

I would appreciate an early reply as all of my postings are topical as they are taken from the newspapers.

Sure, you can upload the WordPress installation directory to your host. Then update wp-config.php file with the details of your old database which already in the host.
