How do i un-link the date and author name in the post meta?

ok got it. what i did is made a copy of the funcions.php file for my actual twenty twelve theme and saved it in my child theme folder. so th ea actual file is “functions.php” not a *.txt file

Ok i recopied and saved it over and the code is gone. maybe i cut part of the code off? Anyways. So what i want is for it to say the date and the author but the date un-linked but the author still with its link. I dont want the category or the tag to be displayed.

Can you clarify what you want linked and not linked in a list?
E.g:

– that

Not linked
– those

Author
Not linked
date and time
Not displayed at all
the category
the tags

Is the author linked by default?

under the original theme coding the category, tags, date and time and author are all automatically linked.

ok the date and time are unlinked. The category and tags are still visible and the author is not visible though.
