    Hi @smoli,

Thanks for your question and no problem at all, you can simply deactivate or uninstall the Dashboard plugin and you’ll be able to install MarketPress right at Plugins > Add New.

How does that work for ya?

[EDIT: the same method can be used to update as well, simply deactivate the Dashboard plugin and you can easily update the free version.]

    Cheers,
    David

    Thanks, David,

I deactivated the WPMU Dashboard and it still will not let me update the free version.

Is there something coming down the pike that will rectify this? I don’t understand why the Dashboard interferes with updating a free plugin.

    Thanks
    Steven

    Hi Steven,

    Thank you for your reply.

Can’t you update it from the following path?

Admin Area -> Dashboard -> Updates

Could you please tell me a bit more in detail what’s the problem you are facing?

Alternatively you can just uninstall the current lite version of MarketPress plugin and reinstall the latest version of it( The data created by MarketPress won’t affect ).

Thank you for getting back to me.

No. I cannot update it from anywhere in my Admin Area. It’s telling me I must activate WPMU Dashboard in order to update, which then gives me the same “upgrade to update” message inside the WPMU Dash.

When I tried to trick it into batch updating, it gave me an error message when trying to open/install the update.

I have a full store setup on the site, so I’m concerned about deleting data and products I have created. Are you certain that the store contents won’t be affected?

I also do not want to delete the WPMU Dashboard, but will If I have to do it to get this to work. Since I paid for the Dashboard and other plugins, I don’t want to have to delete and reinstall these things on a regular basis.

    Thanks,
    Steven

    Still having the same issue.

This is very disappointing for a paid product. When you pay to get a premium version of any product from any developer, you don’t expect it to disable any free products you have installed. Who does that?

Really regretting having purchased the WPMUDEV Dashboard and “Premium” services now. I was fine with the Premium plugins not offering much more than the free versions, since I liked the free versions of the plugins, but the service and follow up from the WPMUDEV team after purchasing the upgrades erases all of that.

    Hi Steven,

As said you can just uninstall/delete the current lite version of MarketPress plugin and reinstall the latest version of it.

The data created by MarketPress won’t affect but for safety purpose just take a backup of the data.

Would you mind if I logged in to your site and did some testing? This might help get to the bottom of this faster. If this is ok, just send log in info through our secured contact form: https://premium.wpmudev.org/contact/
