How do I upgrade or switch themes?

    Hello,
    I’m using Sandbox WordPress Theme on my website:
    https://www.alternativephotography.com/wp/
    Bluehost, my host, updated the php on the server to php 5.6 and my site stopped working. Bluehost told me it’s because the theme stopped loading (but they don’t know why).

    The resolved this by restoring php handler for the site to php 5.2. and told me to “look into updating your theme” so it’s compatible with 5.6.

    The only clue they gave was “Looks like sandbox is up to date, there might be something in the code or configuration that is causing the issue with the php version causing the site to only work correctly with php 5.2”
    So, since the theme is no longer being updated, what do I do about this?
    I’ve done a lot of customizations on the site, and switching to another theme would be a huge amount of work…
    I really appreciate any help on this (I’m not very good at servers or php). ??
