• After last update:
When I edit a media item I now get a list of all media categories. It does not appear in a scrollable window like before, so it covers quite some length of the page. In the phone it appears before the old tree of categories that appears like before in a window. In the computer it appears by itself and the old tree is gone.

I tried editing the list in the phone but it didn’t record in the database so I used the tree instead.

I can’t really see the purpose of this list. Wasn’t it OK before with just a tree structure of media categories in a scrollable window?

Thanks for keeping up the plug in. Very useful. I use the paid version.

I also believe the list of items (images etc) in the media library in the phone has changed to one column and is much longer. It was a little easier to survey when it filled the entire width of the phone screen.

    Hi @sweden1,

Any change to a category list wasn’t intended in this update. But maybe small CSS changes that allow the infinite scroll to work as before interfere with other plugins or themes. Also, maybe I didn’t pay enough attention to the mobile version.

Could you please post a screenshot of the issue? Or maybe a short video?

Thank you for your kind words about the plugin!

    Best,

When I edit media I get a single level list of all categories before the tree. It is maybe not intended?

When I add media, images form one column. They used to fill the entire screen in 4-5 columns. It was easier to survey. (minor problem)

This is on phone, of course.

Thanks for your quick reply. I write short now, I’m downtown. Just ask for more info, please.

Of course, it is not intended. Actually, I changed the public option for the taxonomy if an archive page is disabled for it because a lot of people asked me to disable any indexable media archives. When public is false WP itself stops adding a taxonomy to media attributes while we need it to be available in the admin. So, I deleted ALL the taxonomy attributes and wrote a custom code that “decides” what to show instead of the WP core. I did it through a filter. It might be that you also use some other media plugin that overrides the same part and those taxonomies that should be first removed and then added with my custom code – were not actually removed. So they’re being shown twice – first by WP core, next by EML.

Showing everything in a single column is not intended either. I’ll try to reproduce the issue. As I assume you didn’t touch Scrolling settings in EML’s admin so far?

I don’t use any other media plug in. I have not changed any admin settings for the EML plug in. I have two filters that work on posts only. I disabled them with no change.

If this proves hard to fix, maybe I should revert to the previous version? But no hurry, the system is workable.

Please let me know if I can supply more information.

Please post full-page screenshots of an admin page on desktop and mobile. It’s not quite clear what exactly is wrong right now. Thank you.

p.s. I don’t think it’s hardly fixable, I just need to understand what to fix.

I seem to get an extra list of media categories when I edit media. I get the normal tree like structure on top right. But I also get this single level list of categories at the bottom.

Thank you for attending to this issue.

I work slowly. I haven’t used Windows for a long time.

    This was from desktop.

I will supply a larger screen shot from the phone as soon as possible. But the problem is the same. The list becomes a little intrusive on the phone.

In the phone the same list of media categories appears under the image, when I edit media.

The list is long and I cut it in two. Below the list is the tree of categories that works fine. I don’t think the extra list has any effect on the database.

So the problem is purely cosmetical. I just wanted to inform the developer.

    Hi @sweden1,

Thanks a lot! I got it and found what caused the issue. Will be fixed soon.
