How to make a membership site

  • Hey Community! My name is Andrew and I’m brand new here. My hat goes off to everyone here for all of your encouragement and support.

    Anyway…I hope I’m asking this in the right section of this forum but, I would like to create a website similar to the link.

    I know how to make a membership site, but what I’m confused about is where I’d be storing my content for people to download.

    I’d like to make music loops that my members could download directly off of my website but each loop could be over 1GB each. You can see that I’d quickly run out of room with most web hosts seeing that the maximum amount of storage they offer is 30GB on average.

    How do websites similar to OrlandoDrummer.com store so much product on their website? This is my question to all of you.

    That’s a WordPress site — you could always contact them and ask. Most people are proud of their websites and are happy to share info.

    Many people use Amazon S3 when they have to store large files.

    Have a look at WooCommerce – each file could be a product that your user purchases (can be free) which then gives them access to the file (thus keeping the file secure as only those who purchase it will get the link). You could use WooCommerce Memberships to manage the access to the site so that the products are only available to members. Finally, there is a WooCommerce Amazon S3 plugin which allows you securely to host the downloads on Amazon’s servers.
