• I rely heavily on Contact Form DB by Michael Simpson @msimpson. There is no substitute, no alternative. I need a database, not emails. It’s not acceptable to me that it is gone from the WordPress listing. Contact Form DB needs to be in the repository!

What do we have to do to get it back?
I do not understand who or what @pluginvulnerabilities is. Who do we lobby? Who do we talk into a re-evaluation?

• From what I can tell, Michael Simpson has done most of what is required. It seems that the last piece is how he handles logged in admin users. Apparently they are being sticky there and they have also been insulting. So, providing this plugin has largely been a labor of love with some donations. It seems like Mr. Simpson is not sure if it is worth it to continue. I agree that there is no substitute. Flamingo does not do it. I hope Mr. Simpson will respond.

Plugin Vulnerabilities here, our only involvement with this plugin was to notify the developer that the first time they attempted to fix a vulnerability in it, the fix was incomplete. We had nothing to do with the removal of this plugin from the Plugin Directory and we can’t do anything to restore it.

As cravaus mentioned, the return of the plugin would involve the developer and the people behind the Plugin Directory resolving the issues they have.

Would be great to see this awesome plugin become part of the WP experience again

Add me to the list of people who would support this plugin. I’d even pay for it if that would help. Have yet to find another one that I like as much.

Thank you @pluginvulnerabilities. This is very frustrating for many of us.

Michael @msimpson I understand it’s available at GitHub, but that’s not the same. When in the directory, users can confirm it’s working with their version of WP and their contact form plugin. We can also update more easily. I believe there are several of us would contribute to it. Using it from GitHub is scarier. If we don’t use it from GitHub we have to be concerned that it will stop working or become a vulnerability. (I believe I posted on GitHub asking about it and I am now receiving many confusing discussions about it. Confusing because they are over my head.)

Michael, I would like to know how to contact “the people behind the Plugin Directory” to encourage them to look at your plugin again. Or to encourage you to communicate with them. If you prefer to communicate with me offlist, I can be reached at <https://talesoftravelandtech.com/contact-deborah/>.

I agree that this is a superb plugin and would love to see it reinstated in the WordPress plugin directory.

Michael, are you open to offers of help in reinstating this plugin? I don’t know what the challenges might be, nor if I have the skills required, but if you’re willing to discuss it then please get in touch.
