  • You don’t deactivate a theme, per se; you simply activate another theme. What are you trying to accomplish?

Thank you — I’m just trying to go back to the virgin/native platform I had when I first installed WP. I’m trying to wipe the slate clean to start over.

    Keith.

You might consider a plugin for this purpose: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/search.php?q=reset+database. I haven’t tried any of them, so I can’t comment on which one to choose.

Thanks but that answer just doesn’t make any sense to me. Surely there must be some simpler provision in WP to simply “start over” if you realized the THEME you selected really isn’t working out.

Can anyone suggest an alternative simpler solution?

    Keith.

If you decide you don’t like a theme you’ve chosen, it’s no great hardship to simply switch to a different theme. The space taken up by the old theme is minuscule compared to most hosting plans, and if you are running low on space, you can simply delete unused themes using cPanel or whatever file management application your host provides.

Two days ago I purchased a theme and installed it in the wrong place. I would like to install it to the correct site, but am being asked for payment again. Suggestions?
