Hi there, I wonder if anyone can help.

The default language of my site is English and we are translating to French.

In the English version of one of our pages (https://orszco-pack.org/work-plan/) we have a Google Doc embedded. The Google Doc in question is our work plan. On the French version of the page (https://orszco-pack.org/fr/work-plan/) I want to embed the French translation of our work plan (ie a different Google Doc). The problem is that when I edit the French version of the page and put in the embed code for the French Google Doc, the embed code is also changed to the French Google Doc in the English version of the page.

Is there any way de-linking the English and French versions of this particular page so that I can edit the French version (ie embed the French Google Doc) without it affecting the Google Doc embedded in the English version of the page?

    Thanks

    Hey there,

We deeply apologize for the delayed response.

There has been a great load on our support team in the past few days, but such a long reply time is very uncommon.

You can use our Conditional Shortcode Based On Language to display different content for different languages https://translatepress.com/docs/translation-shortcode/.

Let me know if you encounter any difficulties in implementing this.

Many thanks for this. I did work this out for myself in the end. We are now using this technique to publish our ‘work plan’ pages and this are now displaying the correct embedded Google Doc in French and English.

    Regards

    A quick follow-up question.

Can you use this technique between the <head> </head> tags in the header.php file?

Background: I have two MailChimp mailing lists (one French and one English) and these require different code to be inserted between the <head> tags to display a pop-up ‘Subscribe to our mailing list’ form.

    Thanks

    Simon
