How Do You Mass Delete "Approved" Comments?

  • Hi I have over 18,000 spam messages that have somehow been marked as “approved” according to my dashboard. How do I mass delete these things?? I’ve seen how to mass delete unread/ comments awaiting moderation and found it to be of no help since my spam comments have been approved.

    I am a bit new to the WordPress and configuring sites in general so please reply in a way a novice can understand.

  • Go to dashboard, comments. In the upper right corner hit screen options. That will give you a choice of how many comments to show on screen so you can bulk trash or spam them.

    BUT, you will want to experiment with this number. If you put in 18,000 it might take days to populate your screen. Maybe start with 500 – if that is not to slow go up. Even at 500 you would have to do it 36 times – not really too bad.

    Similar Problem here, I could not moderate my blog for 15 days so when I logged in, I saw 48,568 Comments Pending, Please tell me how to solve this situation.
