How do you measure unique visitors?

    Hi,
    I need to know how Wp Statistics measures unique visitors since I’m trying to guess the reason behind the huge difference in data provided by this plug-in, Google Analytics and the dedicated server stats.

    Which one is more reliable?

    Neither, both have different pros/cons. However, the multi-billion dollar company that depends on visitors stats to generate their profits probably spends a bit more time on their code ??

    WP Statistics uses the IP/browser info to identify unique visitors.
