• I have downloaded the theme Tyche and tried to re-create the demo page to get acquainted with how it works.

But I have no idea how! First question – do they use custom CSS or a child theme in the demo page? I have seen no options in the customization to create what you see in the demo!

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Was it a free demo? If it’s free, don’t expect that you can do changes.
They all use their own CSS with the demo content combined.

    Its a free theme.

So you say that I was misled? Because I assumed a demo existed to show you the website you can make with ONLY the theme and without custom CSS or child themes. Is that not the case? Should I stop trusting demos?

I suggest you contact the devs for that theme to find out how they did the demo. A lot of themes will have a download for the demo or sample content. Check the readme file(s) that came with the theme.

do they use custom CSS or a child theme in the demo page?

The easy way to figure this out is to view the source code for the page in question. Ctrl + v will show source code in another tab. You can see if any custom css has been added. You can find the theme stylesheet by searching for /wp-content/themes/

Sorry, that should be ctrol + u, not ctrl + v.
