How do you read a database file using post_id

  • I am using an event plug-in and want to access some of the fields the plug-in maintains while I am processing a post. From a single post, how do I code the statements to join the post with the corresponding plug-in detail about that post? I have searched for WordPress coding examples but have come up dry.
