How do you upload a file to 2.5

  • How do you upload a file to 2.5, like a pdf and insert it into a post? There are functions for media, video and others, but I cannot get the links to a file like I could in earlier versions. thanks

    Just click the Add Media button (anything that is not image/video/audio is just ‘media’) and upload it there. The resulting file info box shows buttons to file URL and post URL. Click the file URL one and insert it into the post.

    Thanks, but there’s nothing to click on: I get the two blanks with red asterisks beside them. The files are uploaded, but do I have to actually insert the URL? In the older version one just put in the text?

    Again, thanks, and perhaps I’ve found a new issue: This was not necessarily a WordPress 2.5 issue and may well be an Internet Explorer problem. I was able to accomplish the insertion with FireFox, but not with IE (whatever the current version is) running under Vista.
