How Do You Use Front Page Widgets in [Theme: Sela]?

  • I recently joined Amazon affiliates for their ad program, and I’m trying to add widgets to other areas of my website other than the sidebar. I enter in the html code in a simple text widget and place it into the First Front Page Widget Area. I save, go to my site to see the changes, and nothing shows up anywhere on the page or any of the other pages. The sidebar is too small for a lot of the ads I want to use, so how do I fix this problem? Is it something to do with how I have my pages set up? Do the properties need to be changed?
    I’m really at a loss, and I have a hard time figuring out technology. I need an explanation for the extra dumb.
