• I manage a site that requires logging in. As admin I had to change a user’s password. He is a “Participant”. But, when he logs in, there does not seem to be a way for him to change his password. Is the only way to change your password via the “Lost your password” link on the login page?

  • Hi Bob! Usually a user with an Administrator’s role on the site can reset the password for another user, though if the role in this case is “Participant” I’m not sure that permissions level requires a password. “Participant” is a custom user role, I think.

For most user roles, you can click on the user’s name from your list of users on the dashboard, scroll all the way to the bottom of the screen, and find “Account Management.” There should be a button for “Generate Password” that will create a new password for this user that you can share with them, and once they’re on the site they can create another new password if needed.

If the “Participant” user role doesn’t allow the user to log on to the dashboard at all, try upgrading their role to the next level and see if that will allow a password change? Hope this helps. ??
