• I received an email saying that “_____ is now following your blog”. there was a stylized picture in it, which I clicked, which opened up a webpage advertisement. This seemed suspicious.
So I looked at the “return Path”, which was:
Return-Path: [email protected] where xxxxx is my email address with an equal sign before the ‘@’.
(the email seems to be from “[email protected]”, but “windows live mail” lets you look at the real return path.).
So did I open a malware email? Should I have clicked on that image?
    Thanks.

That should be normal, the folks at WordPress.com also own the domain wp.com, so it’s at the very least not a third-party malicious entity.

It would seem that the donotreply email is perhaps actually a bouncer which redirects replies to you or something similar.
