  • Trackback speed is based on server speed, both yours and the destinations URL.

In the vast majority of cases (95%?) it takes just seconds.(15 or less)

On the other side of the coin the destination URL must allow trackbacks. For some reason it may be disabled or they are directed to a moderation que to be reviewed and manually approved.

I have heard from various sources that MSN Spaces does have a problem with TB’s which fits in with that entire system that is mostly junk, in my opinion.

I’m not convinced the bug fixes in 1.5.1.1 have fixed all the ping and track issues. I have been going round and round with a couple of sites where my trackbacks aren’t showing up and their server logs show no evidence of my machine ever contacting their trackback system. Yet it clearly is working for some sites. My current source of mystification is the trackback system at CNet’s News.com. WordPress’s failure to trackback correctly is costing me A LOT of traffic.

Does anybody know a manual way of forcing WordPress to issue pings and tracks?

You can use the above to send / receive as a test ?

Well if it really take around 1 – 15 seconds, than obviously my trackback and Ping does not work. As i have test it on testTrack….

    Already 15 Min.
