• My small personal website is listed in google. If I do a research entering some words or names specific to my site, the search engine will show me my pages.

But, one month ago, I crated a blog on my website, and made a link on the main page. One month later, google still ignores my blog.

Three days ago, I created a sitemap, created a google account, and everything seemed to be working.

But my blog still is ausernt from google.

Is this normal, after one month? How long must I wait?

macmanx, I could not correct the blank space problem from my Apple Mac OS X laptop computer, but now I am in a cybercoffee (using windows), and I could remove the blank line. I don’t know why it did not work from my Mac.

I also tried the other modifications you suggested, but the problem is that doing so, I modify the appearance. I don’t want to insert

tags, because this adds space between the lines.

I will modify the pictures tags, however.

What consequences could leaving the lists without

      tags have?

    ??

lol… In my previous post, I wrote < u l > without spaces, like a real html tag, and changed the apearance…

You can adjust the CSS entry for ul tags so that they do not add space between the lines.

Adjusting the ul tag? How do I do this?

Well, macmanx, it eventually worked. Three days after I removed that blank line on top of the header.php file, the blog could be found in google. Thanks for that. I know that this blank line was probably the cause of the trouble, because the second of my two blogs had no blank line at the start of its pages, and three days after I installed a sitemap plugin that pinged google, this second blog was listed in google as well.

One thing is bizarre, however: only the main page of the blog is listed. If I do a research with words which can be found only in the second, third, etc, page, I will not find that page in google. Do you know why?

Must I just wait a bit more?

Answer to original question straight from the horse’s mouth…or Google’s URL submission page, actually.

We add and update new sites to our index each time we crawl the web, and we invite you to submit your URL here. We do not add all submitted URLs to our index, and we cannot make any predictions or guarantees about when or if they will appear.

And here is lots of “Google Information for Webmasters”.

    https://www.google.com/webmasters/

I have the same problem as ludwin, so I’ll post here my site https://www.outsourcingsw.com . Maybe this way Google will find it.

Now I have a new problem. I have to change the original url to a new one but I do not want to lose Google Page Rank rankings. The new site is https://www.aplicacionesindia.es .

I hope that Google finds it soon and does not blacklist it because of duplicated content.

How much difference will using a site map make when your site is crawled by Google. Is it better to have one or not to have one.

every link here has rel="nofollow" on it.
Y’all can stop posting your links here in hopes that google picks ’em up. ??

@joer – Since google has a standardized sitemap, I imagine they favor it to some extent. If you search the forums here, you’ll find topics specifically related to it and some plugins to generate it.

So if I have a website that I add pages to with each article I post will the site map need to be updated. If so and I assume that is goint to be the case Is there any scripts that will automatically update site maps?

    Thanks
    Joe

@joe – yep, each post you make means it needs to be updated.

The search I mentioned earlier: https://www.ads-software.com/search/google+sitemap?forums=1

A couple folks have written plugins that you’ll see referenced. Probably the best way to start.

I have the same issue but cannot find it?

blank line before the DOCTYPE declaration

    from my home page https://www.spaparazzi.com

I specifically looked in header.php and could not see a blank space above the declaration.

    Anyone know?
