• I have Subscribe2 and love it but I’d like to know how many of my subscribers actually click through to read my posts. Is there a way? Perhaps another plugin that will track those stats (much like Constant Contact)?

    Any ideas?

    Thanks for the help.

  • Hi,

I found a couple of articles out there about tracking user activity on wordpress. Here are a couple of tracking plugins that I found:

    https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/simple-history/

    https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/threewp-activity-monitor/

I would recommend simple-history vs threewp simply out of how recently each was updated.

But don’t take my word for either, do your research, perform tests, read documentation and read reviews of each. It’s possible that these won’t accomplish what you want, so before you load them up, read up on them!

Let me know if either one of these works for you.

Thank you so much for looking that up! But from what I can tell, those plugins are for keeping track of what other contributors do on your site. I was looking for a way to see how successful my posts were. I want to know out of my 500 or so subscribers who actually clicks through to read the post. Very similar to Constant Contact.

Sorry I wasn’t much help. the only other thing i can offer you is this:

    https://www.wpbeginner.com/beginners-guide/how-to-install-google-analytics-in-wordpress/

If this doesn’t do it, then i would suggest contacting a developer and seeing if you can make a plugin for this particular need. If you go that route though, do your homework and look at their portfolio and also what reviewers have to say about their plugins.

If anyone else has any information about what she is looking for, please share ??

    Hi,
I see the comments have not been closed here so here is my three cents worth – use the Squirrly plugin for this. Unfortunately it’s a plugin which carries a $9.99 per month price tag but it is worth it. It won’t track visitors IP though.

I also use Counterize – it does work on the latest WP version 3.8.1 without any problems. It does track IP which can be illegal in some countries.

Is Squirrly worth it? Most WP users prefer Joost de Valk’s WordPress SEO, it’s free and very powerful. I don’t see a posts read status though. Squirrly is designed to make it easy.

    Hope this helps.

Let me know if you found a better alternative. Your request is not unique and I think many users would scramble to download a freebie plugin for this purpose.

    Ian
