How not to show separate products in category if they are in grouped product ?

    Hi,
    is there a possibility not to show separate products in category if they are inside grouped product. If grouped product AAA has inside separate products BBB and CCC, I want on category to show only AAA, but not AAA, BBB and CCCC.
    Real example:
    Category: https://bft.lt/kategorija/kiemo-vartai/stumdomu-kiemo-vartu-automatika/
    Inside this category is set to show products and subcategories. There is also few grouped products: DEIMOS, ARES, ICARO.
    Inside each grouped product is few separate products: DEIMOS has 13 products inside, ICARO has 2 products.
    I need to every product assign category or few categories to show correct WordPress breadcrumbs on any product page.
    At the moment if I do not want product to appear in category, I need to set this product to UNCATEGORIZED. So I do this for all the products inside DEIMOS and ARES grouped products. But then I have bad WordPress breadcrumbs and similar products, and etc.
    If I set category “Stumdom? kiemo vart? automatika” to grouped product ICARO, also to products ICARO ULTRA and ICARO NF, then on category “Stumdom? kiemo vart? automatika” I want to see only ICARO, but not ICARO + ICARO ULTRA + ICARO NF (Icaro NF isn’t showing at the moment because out of stock).
    If I set category to all 13 products inside DEIMOS, 2 products inside ARES, 2 products inside ICARO, then in category “Stumdom? kiemo vart? automatika” will be a big big mess and hard to find needed product.

    Anybody knows how to solve this problem ?

    Hi there pranske,

    To hide the simple products inside a grouped product on your category page, you can set the Catalog visibility setting to Hidden on an edit page of your Simple product.

    For example, your grouped product is DEIMOS, if you want to hide a simple product inside DEIMOS, such as “Deimos Ultra BT A600 mini (iki 600kg)”, go to Edit screen of this simple product, under Catalog visibility, set it to Hidden.

    sorry, for so late reply, and thanks for trying to help. Are you talking about this?
    I don’t need to hide simple products inside a grouped product. I only have to hide in category products, that are inside a grouped product, and not to hide simple products that are not grouped. But when I click on a grouped product, I have to see inside all the simple products that must be in that grouped product, that do not need to appear in category.
    If I make simple product “Hidden”, then inside grouped product is not active anymore. I can’t open this simple product anymore, I can’t order it.

    Example:
    Category KIEMO: https://bft.lt/kategorija/kiemo-vartai/stumdomu-kiemo-vartu-automatika/
    Grouped product ICARO (with 2 simple products inside) : https://bft.lt/preke/icaro/
    Simple product “Icaro Ultra” inside ICARO category: https://bft.lt/preke/icaro-ultra-ac-a2000/ – in stock;
    Simple product “Icaro NF” inside ICARO category: https://bft.lt/preke/icaro-ultra-ac-a2000/ – out of stock.

    Both simple products “Icaro Ultra” and “Icaro NF”, also grouped product “ICARO” belongs to category “KIEMO”.
    So if I open category “KIEMO” there is listed: “ICARO”, “Icaro Ultra”, and “Icaro NF”. But I need to be listed only grouped product “ICARO”, and not “Icaro Ultra” and “Icaro NF”. If I need “Icaro Ultra” or “Icaro NF”, I need to go inside grouped “ICARO” and there I can see both “Icaro Ultra” and “Icaro NF” that I don’t want to see inside category “KIEMO”.
    Now to do this, I need to set “Icaro Ultra” and “Icaro NF” to “uncategorized”, but then I have bad WordPress breadcrumbs and similar products, and etc. I want to set category to all the products, I dont want to have “uncategorized” products.

    P.S. “Icaro NF” is out of stock, so by default is not showing on “KIEMO” category, only inside “ICARO”, but “Icaro ULTRA” I want to hide from “KIEMO” category, only show inside “ICARO” grouped product.

    There’s not a way to have products in groups that are not also available in the main catalog without customization.

    We highly recommend contacting one of the services on our Customizations page (https://woocommerce.com/customizations/)

    Also, just so you know, when you respond here with a “UP” or similar, it typically puts it at the end of the queue from where we are working, as we typically work from oldest to newest responses, and that is a new response.
