• I desire the following: to have a WordPress blog that when a new post is posted sends an email to subscribers that is graphically related to the WordPress blog. So, assume you had a blog like Daily Candy, and when you added a post, subscribers automatically got an appealingly graphic email that looked like the Daily Candy post.

I am embarrassed to ask this question, because I feel it’s so obvious, but I can’t figure out the answer, and whether this is something dependent upon which “skin” you use.

  • Why not use RSS instead? It’s kind of like what you’re asking for but it’s not involve using Email:

Example, Here’s an RSS of my Blog: https://leev18.com/feed/

    Try using Feedburner.

Thank you but the problem with RSS and Feedburner is that the missive doesn’t come in an email in box which I am sure is the most common “channel” for folks to check. With feeds, you need to check a feedreader, you have to even know they exist. So while hugely popular, they are exotic compared to email, no? So my question is really not how to propogate the post on the blog, but how to get it delivered via good old email. Like Groupon or Rue La La does. They have a website/blog but they deliver email daily based on latest blogs… I assume in a very integrated seamless manner. Is there anyway I can do this with WordPress?

Did you actually bother to check Feedburner? Were you not aware that people can sign up to get your feed by email?

Yes I did check Feedburner, per your suggestion… and I was aware of Feeburner. But my concern is that it’s an extra step in a world where minimization of effort prevails. The alternative of Feedburner is a good one, I’m just wondering if there is an alternative course.

Everyone is already getting email; not everyone is signed up for Feeds. My demo is going to skew older than 30 so I want to make everything easy.
