How should I set up the Domain names in my server?

    Hi,

    I want to set up a Multisite WP where:
    domain.com is the main domain (the one where WP is installed) and I can create a network of sites inside of it.
    For this exercise let’s call them project1.com, project2.com and project3.com (there will be up to 10 actually, that’s why I’d like to manage them all from one WP network).

    I think I’ve set up correctly the Multisite WP and the WP MU Domain Mapping plugin.
    I’m using our server IP (let’s say it is: 100.101.102.103)
    I’ve also set up my sites like this:
    projectX.domain.com (where X is the number from 1 to 10)

    I’ve also added the domains to the Domains mapping list but unfortunately my sites don’t work.
    Not as project1.domain.com neither as project1.com

    I’m wondering if this has something to do with the way I set up the Hosting from them in my server where I just did what I’ve done for any other domain, meaning that they have they own hosting space.

    I’m starting to think that perhaps I should go into the registar company and set them u pas redirections to projectX.domain.com

    Would that fix my issue?

    How do they “not work”?

    Hi Ron,

    We finally got it working.
    Our problem was related to Apache.
    We weren’t creating the Host Alias correctly.

    We called our hosting provider and managed to fix it.
