how the heck do you add navigation??

  • Sorry for such a basic question, but I’m very new to this and the help files were no help for such a necessity.
    For now I just need to be able to add my main navigation, ie. About, Media, Contact, etc. A great example is what is above this page – Home, Showcase, Extend…. I guess I’m thinking along the lines of a regular web site navigation.

    It seems I stumbled through creating 1 or 2 totally by accident, not sure how I did it, but I do know they appeared only after I posted a page to it? If that makes sense?? I’m not even sure…

    Anyway, thanks for any quick explanation or a link to where I will find what I need to understand.

    You create static pages in the WP editor, and in most themes that adds them to the navigation bar. You can set the order in which they display by assigning numbers to the “order” field – they will then display in sequential number order.
