How to access a single event's information with just the post ID

I am able to pull up the normal post information, but I can’t seem to figure out how to get the additional event information.

I’ve seen method such as on these sites, but it seems the objects they use are undefined for me.

All of the examples I’ve seen have included 1 of these two methods. I’ve noticed for all of the examples I’ve seen to do this are posted at least over a year ago. Is there a new way to do this?
